Taking Care of Self and being Happy…

Happiness is in your hands...

Early this morning I took my daily conscious deep breaths and was thankful for another wonderful day in which to enjoy… before springing out of bed, putting on my shorts and top and went for my daily 1/2 hour walk (too hot for my normal gentle jogging).  On my return, after a delicious breakfast and 2 cups of ‘english tea’, I opened up my book of ‘laughter quotes’ for a morning giggle… I started collecting the quotes earlier this year when I realised that I was getting too serious…   and needed to laugh more on a daily basis…

During today I’ll make sure that I drink lots of fresh water and lemon and one glass with a bit of apple cider vinegar (as my body makeup tends to be too acidic and this balances it… I found this out during an iridology consultation).. Todays food will consist, as most days… with some fresh veg, salad, fruit, pure dark chocolate and homemade whatever takes our fancy… I don’t use sugar or white flour, bread and rice… but honey and fibrous grains…

For the rest, I will make sure I enjoy being creative in my work and play times, feeling relaxed and being conscious of things going on around me…

IAM conscious of giving my body consciousness (mind, body and spirit) the very best care, loving myself and making sure my ‘happy hormones’ produce, optimally flow through my being and IAM happy… Happy enough to withstand whatever pressure and stress I may come across…

IAM also very aware that lots of people are depressed and in pain with how the world is now and maybe this article can help to remind us that most things are within our control (when we are conscious of it)… and choosing to be happy and take care of ourself is our no 1 priority…  some things in life seems to be a vicious circle… but we can choose to change our situation in every moment… but do we really want to?

The following chemicals are responsible for keeping us calm, relaxed, in a good mood and happy… They are produced within our endocrine & nervous system… When we don’t take care of our self with good eating habits, excerise, laughter, smiling, being sensual, sexual, creative and allow ourselves to be put under pressure and stress by others and outside situations… the production and flow of these chemicals slow down and cause depression… and disease in our body…

Serotonin… improves our mood and helps us to sleep
Dopamine/noradrenaline neurotransmitters… helps us to feel energized, focused, motivated and in control
Gamma-amino butyric acid neurotransmitter… helps us to calm down during periods of stress
Adrenaline… stimulates and helps us to respond to stress
Endorphins… gives us a blissful feeling, a euphoria feeling
Acetylcholine… helps our memory, cognition, alertness, and concentration.
Melatonin… helps us to sleep soundly and dream.

The following are my ‘laughing quotes’ I read today… I hope they make you smile and giggle a little too….

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.

If you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies; Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.
Mother Teresa

Someone that you don’t even know exists may love you.

“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.”
Dolly Parton

You know there is a problem with the education system when you realize that out of the 3 R’s only one begins with an R.

Dennis Miller

Children really brighten up a household. They never turn the lights off.

Ralph Bus

I’m astounded by people who want to ‘know’ the universe when it’s hard enough to find your way around Chinatown.

Woody Allen

The trouble with children is that they’re not returnable.

Quentin Crisp

The very purpose of existence is to reconcile the glowing opinion we hold of ourselves with the appalling things that other people think about us.

Quentin Crisp

This woman did not fly to extremes; she lived there.

Quentin Crisp

Why do people say “no offence” when they’re about to offend someone?

Author Unknown

Why is it when we talk to God we’re praying, but when God talks to us, we’re schizophrenic?

Lily Tomlin

You have to be careful if you don’t know where you’re going because you might not get there.

Yogi Berra

You know you’re getting old when you stoop to tie your shoelaces and wonder what else you could do while you’re down there.

George Burns

I think the problem with people is not that they want to kill or poison themselves but they don’t know how to change. Also, they want things to be easy – go to the store, buy stuff, and cook.

These days being healthy means spending a lot of time reading, shopping around, spending a lot of money and making good choices. You have to agree that there are a limited amount of places that you can go out and have a healthy meal with your friends or family.

Also, making a choice to be happy means that you have to stop being a victim, and that, my friend, is a deal breaker. We are raised to fit in, we are raised to think that happiness comes from things you own, career you have, life you build, and if you do not have it, you can’t be happy. And, of course, that means that if you have dreams and you have not been able to make them a reality, you just can’t be happy.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments… Are you living in America? I found it also very hard to find restaurants that served healthy food too… or not too expensive..Thank goodness I live in Spain where I go to the local market and buy most of my products very cheaply… the restaurants are also reasonable, a 3 course meal is an average of 15 euros and a bottle of rioja 6 euro…. We chose to live here because the living costs were so reasonable… Yes, like you mention reading and talking about where to find reasonable priced food is so essential… I found the farmers market was good when i was visiting america… Thankfully information is getting out there and more and more people are becoming more conscious of what they eat and do now…. and realise that all the material things, the best study and career etc don’t make you happy anyway… The secret is to go beyond the mind, the ego and connect with the soul… and follow the souls dream… this basically means to choose to opt out of main stream society, of having to fit in… and standing out… here IAM and just being happy with what is… I know it’s easy said, but one heart at a time… and isn’t it why we are all writing so consciously now… to help each other move from ‘fitting in’ to standing out…

What a challenging tool depression can be. How powerful when one can allow any feeling while working on observing it from a place of using it as a teacher to inform transformation.

You are giving such a wonderful share for the snap shot of where we all are on the path. It takes courage to dive into the laughter in a world (and sometimes body!) that is asking us to only focus on the pain. When we feel the pain and can still find the smile, for me, it brings me closer to being home :).

Really glad to have been honored by your follow over on my blog. I am looking forward to the shares as the road a head of each of us unfolds!

Much joy on yOur jounrey lovely lady! -x.M

Thank you for your thoughtful and lovely comments… I believe we can only be examples… helping fellow awakening people to enjoy their own true magnificence and authentic power…

Isn’t pain a language from the body that needs attention? Isn’t depression a language from the mind that needs to escape from itself…

Loving ourself unconditionally is the beginning of freedom… freedom from pain, depression and fear that our world is now intensely wrapped up in….

It is my pleasure to have you as part of my friendship here on word press… Yes together we are creating a new magically world…

Thanks for those tips and reminders. Only recently I have understood the meaning of ‘choose to be happy’ because now I am able to do that regulating my thoughts. This is such a happy place.

Share your love ... thank you x
